Students visit Scarborough; help with art fair

Connor Doane, Reporter

The Falcon Flight Crew helped Scarborough Elementary students with their art fair Thursday, April 14, 2016. The students practiced leadership skills by helping the kids with their art fair.

They learned skills such as how to lead a group effectively, how to accomplish a goal with teamwork, and how to help and motivate young children.

The Falcon Flight Crew helped students make an art project with popsicle sticks and cotton balls and helped them put up their previous work.

Emma Doane, junior, a member of Falcon Flight Crew, said, “It was a good experience, and I learned how to be better with kids. I want to be an elementary school teacher so this trip really benefitted me.”

Rachel Carroll, sponsor, said, “It was really a learning experience for the students. They really worked well with the kids and as far as I can tell it seems the kids and my students seemed to really enjoy it.”

Going to elementary schools has been reoccurring for several years for the Falcon Flight Crew. They have gone two times this year so far.

Carroll said, “We do it to help the students learn leadership skills and to be a model for young kids.”

There may be another Scarborough Elementary visit this year.
