World’s of Fun Winterfest

Mandi Marstall, Reporter

One of the newest winter activities to do in Kansas City has now been open for the season. Winterfest opening day was November 23,  just a few days before Thanksgiving. Winterfest continues all the way through December; the closing day for all the winter fun ends on New Years Eve. To enter the fun festivities visitors will have to pay $12. There are an abundance of things to do at Worlds of Fun Winterfest. Some of these fun Christmas activities include cookie decorating, ice skating, carriage rides, a reindeer roundup and many more. If visitors want to take a break from activities they can take a seat and enjoy one of the many shows Winterfest has to offer. Some of these shows include the Mistletones, Holly Jolly Trolley, the tree lighting ceremony and many more. After all the fun and festivities, sitting down for some seasonal food is just what the stomach wants. Winterfest offers a variety of food and drinks for guests. Enter into Coasters Winterfest Cafe and grab some chicken tenders and sweet potato fries or stop at Dasher’s Diner and order some seasonal monkey bread topped with vanilla creme.

Don’t just satisfy your stomach, also satisfy your shopping needs; stop at Peppermint Patty’s Christmas Candy or Rickshaw Ruby’s Pop Culture Christmas. Visitors all come to Worlds of Fun for fun rides and attractions. While some of the bigger rides like the Mamba and Patriot are not open for visitors, smaller rides are still available to be ridden like the Bamboozler and the Spinning Dragon.
