Mandalorian review: episodes 3 and 4

Wesley Coats, Reporter

The Mandalorian continues to wow audiences and truly fill a void of Star Wars content. Episodes three and four are both great episodes that continue to follow the journey of Mando and Baby Yoda. The show truly has captured the magic that made the first three Star Wars movies the pop culture sensation they are today. It’s safe to say that Baby Yoda mania has swept the country and the episodes continue to give us plenty of him.

Episodes three and four were the first and second ever live action Star Wars Movie or TV show directed by women. Episode three, “The Sin”, was directed by Deborah Chow and written by Jon Favreau. This episode is easily the most action-packed episode of the show so far, and the best episode of the series up until this point. This episode features several twists that you do not see coming as well as we learn a lot more about Mando. This episode also teaches us more about the Mandalorian way and what they believe in.

Episode four entitled “Sanctuary” is directed by Bryce Dallas Howard. This episode feels like a filler episode but still gives us our first look at Dune, a rouge Rebel shock trooper. This character is quite interesting and I hope to be able to see more of her. This episode is also the best for all of the fans of Baby Yoda. The action in this episode is also quite well paced and also helps to move the plot along. The show continues to move along the story and lore of Mando and the audience truly gets to see who he is as a person.

The show continues to pull me in every single week. After each episode, I want to watch the next one immediately. Overall the show appeals to so many different audiences and fans of different genres that I really would recommend this show to everyone. I’m excited to see where the show goes as we get even closer to the Dec. 27 finale.
