Coach Morrow enjoys building relationships with players

Whether it is coaching or playing, Dan Morrow, head basketball coach, has been around sports for the majority of his life.

This is Morrow’s first season coaching the boys varsity basketball team, but he has coached basketball for a total of 12 years. Previous coaching duties include three years as the boys golf coach.

He played numerous sports in high school and excelled in basketball.

“I played football, basketball, baseball and track in high school and college basketball at the University of Nebraska Omaha,” Morrow said.

He played all four years in college.

As a coach, Morrow emphasizes teamwork and commitment to his players, while getting to know those players.

“My philosophy of coaching is to build relationships with my players and teams throughout the season,” Morrow said.

That is one of the things that he likes most about coaching.

He hopes that when his players’ time on the varsity basketball team is all said and done, they will come away with a better understanding of dedication, commitment and time management.

“I hope to get maximum commitment and effort on the court while players represent Olathe South the right way,” Morrow said.
