Jaylie Postlewait participates in executive board meeting with StuCo leaders

Jaylie Postlewait, senior, is constantly helping others with her many school activities and volunteer work outside of school.

She is involved in Falcon Service Club and StuCo inside of school. Postlewait also volunteers at Lakemary which is a nonprofit organization that helps adults and children with special needs.

Postlewait has been involved in Student Council, or StuCo, ever since elementary school.

Postlewait loves StuCo because it’s “all about teamwork” and because “you get to make a difference and see it,” Postlewait said.

StuCo does lots  of things around the school from hosting the annual Trick or Treat So Others Can Eat food drive, which is Postlewait’s favorite activity, to the Mr. Falcon men’s “beauty contest.”

With Postlewait being the StuCo president, she keeps very busy with planning and getting events ready to make the school the best that it can be.

Postlewait feels StuCo has prepared her for leadership roles in the future because of all the “types of different people” she gets to meet and working with them to make everything run smoothly.

Overall, Postlewait loves seeing how their hard work impacts others around the school: this “makes [me] so happy and makes me love South!”
