How does Abby Allen act out in theater and still have time?

Abby Allen, senior, is always on the move from participating in softball, choir and theater.

Allen has been involved in softball for 14 years, choir for seven years, and theater for 10 years. This year, she plays Morticia Addams, in the musical “The Addams Family”.

When asked about what being a lead is like, Allen said, “It’s exciting and stressful. It’s also a lot of fun to be with the people who are in the Addams family and getting to be the mom.”

She first got involved in theater when she went with one of her friends to an audition at Starlight and tried out for fun and ended up making the musical.

Allen said, “The audition process for Addams family was really smooth. I didn’t think I was going to be one of the leads.”

She spends three hours a day after school rehearsing for theater.

Her favorite part is getting to be with her best friends and meeting new people.

Outside of school, she also does competitive softball and voice lessons.

After high school, Allen will be going to Emporia State for nursing.
