Car and bike show benefits Project Grad

Project Graduation hosted the Third Annual Car & Bike Show on Oct. 14 in the school’s front parking lot.

Project Graduation is an event for graduating seniors who want to celebrate and have fun to conclude their high school career.

The Car & Bike Show consisted of approximately 35 entries, both cars and bikes.

This event raised over $1,600 towards Project Graduation.

The prizes/trophies were people’s choice.

Reece Knight, junior, took first place.

“It was awesome. We raised a lot more money than last year and it was a fun day for all who participated,” Jawanda Mast, co-chair of Project Graduation, said.

The committee consisted of Vicki Kelleher, Matt & Penny Knight, Julie Schriver, John Bodenmiller, and Steve Kucharski, parents.

The Olathe Police & Fire Department also contributed.

The check-in started at 9 a.m., the show at 10 a.m., and trophies/prizes at 1 p.m.

The show was available to the public and was free to attend.

Project Graduation is hosting an event at Jose Pepper’s on Monday, Nov. 13. Stuents can pick up a flyer and bring it to Jose Pepper’s and 20 percent of the proceeds wiil go to Project Graduation.
