Chiefs deliver three wins in a row

Unpredictable.

That would be the best way to describe the Kansas City Chiefs this season. The offense and defense have been rather inconsistent, but a week five bye week has proved to be a regrouping point in the season.

As their record shows, they have been able to get the job done. Other than a lackluster performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers in week four, they have been competitive in every game. The results of the bye week showed as they defeated the Oakland Raiders 26-10 in week six, in arguably their most well played game of the season.

The running game has proved crucial for the offense to function. Spencer Ware has been electric all season long, rushing for a season high 131 yards against the Raiders. That talent in the backfield with Ware, Jamaal Charles and Charcandrick West has been difficult for any defense to stop this season.

The defense is also a strength. Take away the 43 points allowed against the Steelers, and the Chiefs have been able to keep their opponents at bay, including allowing only a field goal against the New York Jets.

Looking forward, Chiefs have a manageable schedule for the next three weeks as they face the Colts, Jaguars and Panthers respectively. All three are teams that do not have a winning record.

The Chiefs seem to have found a balance on offense. Combine that with an always dominant defense and they may have what it takes to be a playoff team.
