Staff versus Women Pay All

According to the Eyrie staff, WPA, or Women Pay All, last year certainly had its perks… and some falls. But they have tips and ideas to make it the best night ever.

Firstly, the majority of the staff did not attend WPA because they “did not have a date.”

Much of the staff feels that if one did not have a date, then that person would have felt unwelcomed and left out. Since so many people feel this way, maybe it would be a good idea to make the dance more single friendly. This can be done by offering a party of one discounts.

Another issue the staff had with WPA was that it was located in the commons, but since the dance is in the North Gym, the staff is much happier.

Most of the staff members’ opinions were unanimous…except opinions regarding the theme.

The theme this year is the Millennium Falcon Formal. StuCo wanted to make it a fun “Star Wars” theme, without students showing up as “stormtroopers.”

Some of the staff agreed with StuCo and believe that regardless of the theme, it was still a dance and students should dress as such.

The other half feels that students should be able to wear different costumes in light of the theme, some felt that not wearing costumes would “defeat the purpose.”

Even though the staff is split on the Star Wars theme, they are looking forward to the dance.
