On Tuesday, Dec. 1 from 7-8:30 p.m. the basketball team gave the Falcons a show at the traditional Late Night.

Late Night is an event held at the beginning of the basketball season, to introduce the different people that perform during basketball games, such as the cheerleaders and the varsity drill team.

The Falcons Booster Club helped organize Late Night along with Gail Holder, golden girls coach.

“It introduces the basketball team and introduces the new season,” Clint Albers, athletic director, said.

Late Night has been going for about five years, but is actually a version of a late night event used about 15 years ago.

As the years progress the number of people who attend is climbing. This year only one of the two bleachers was available to sit in.

“This last year over half of the gym was filled; both parents and students showed up for the show,” Albers said.

People were scattered all around the gym and some sat on the floor.

This year Late Night was held in the South Gym and included showcases of this year’s Falcon basketball teams for both boys and girls.

“A committee helps determine the times and events that will be presented during late night,” Holder, said.

The varsity girls basketball team scrimmaged as well as the boys basketball team. While one team played the other helped referee the other teams.

Also a dunking contest was held between some of the boy basketball players.
