The hit anime Overlord is getting a 4th season. After a special livestream where the 4th season was confirmed, much of the cast confirmed they would be returning:

• Satoshi Hino as Ains
• Yumi Hara as Albedo
• Sumire Uesaka as Shalltear
• Emiri Kato as Aura
• Yumi Uchiyama as Mare
• Masayuki Katou as Demiurge
• Kenta Miyake as Cocytus

  Season 4 will be directed by Naoyuki Itou, the director of the first three seasons. The production company, Madhouse, will also be staying. The release date of season 4 is still unknown but it is likely that it will be announced before the end of 2021.

For new fans who haven’t watched Overlord, it is a “Another World” (also known as Isekai) anime set in the year 2138. In this time period the world of gaming is dominated by VR technology. One game named Yggdrasil, which has been up for quite a while, is shutting down. A long-time player named Momonga decides to stay logged in until the servers shut down. However; when the servers finally stop, something strange happens. Momonga is transported into another world where he seemingly takes over the character in the game he used to play. He quickly adapts to the new world and almost instantly plans to take it over.
