Pothos plants, aka Devil’s Ivy, is a type of indoor foliage plant that has become increasingly popular in recent years. It’s especially known for being easy to grow and take care of, even for those who consider themselves to have a brown thumb. They are also extremely versatile plants, and can be grown to climb up trellises or even as a hanging plant.
There are many benefits to growing a pothos plant in your home. First off, they are so easy to grow that they actually do well with low light and neglect (perfect for anybody who has long given up on caring for real plants). They also purify the air around the environment they are placed in, eliminating odors, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, and other unwanted substances in the air. There is also a belief in some countries that growing a pothos plant will make you richer, hence its other nickname, Money Plant.
Pothos plants are available for purchase in most stores that sell plants. However, if you have a friend or family member with a pothos plant in their home, it is possible to grow your own plant out of a cutting from an existing plant, otherwise known as propagation. There are many tutorials on how to propagate plants, but essentially it is cutting a stem off of an existing plant and placing it in water, and watching an entirely new plant grow out of the original stem.
There are so many benefits to planting a pothos plant, so why not take a “leaf” of faith and plant one today?
