Another world, also known as isekai, is a genre where the main character is transported to another world with large amounts of power. Below is a list of isekai anime for beginners with a season two already out, or releasing soon.

 

  1. Overlord (Rated R-17+)

Overlord is a show about Momonga, a VR player who is trapped inside the game he plays. He quickly finds out he possesses everything he had when he played the game, including high power and a loyal following. The show contains a large amount of both story and fight scenes. Quickly, the protagonist sets his eyes on one goal, world domination. Currently, the show has three seasons with a fourth coming this year. The show can be streamed on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.

 

  1. Dr. Stone (Rated TV-14)

Dr. Stone is a show that takes place in 5738. It starts when everyone on Earth is turned to stone in 2038; however, the protagonist Senku manages to wake up after 3700 years. With the help of his friend Taiju, who also wakes up he rebuilds civilization using science; but not without facing many challenges along the way. The show currently contains one full season, with a second being released right now. The show can be streamed on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Amazon Prime.

 

  1. Re:ZERO Starting Life in Another World (Rated TV-MA)

Re:ZERO is a show about Natsuki Subaru, a normal teenager who is suddenly transported to another world. He quickly finds out the world he is transported to is extremely unforgiving and only the best survive. The show currently features one season with a second currently releasing. It can be streamed from Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Crunchyroll

 

  1. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Rated TV-MA)

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is about a regular office worker who is stabbed while walking down the street, he is then reincarnated into another world as a slime where he meets powerful allies. The show currently features one season with another being released right now. It can be streamed from Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Amazon Prime

The Rising of the Shield Hero is about Naofumi Iwatani, an avid reader who is absorbed into the world of a story he reads. He finds out he was given one thing, a shield. He is ridiculed for his weakness and must find a way to grow strong to survive. The show currently has one season with a second releasing sometime in early 2021.
