How to make Great Thanksgiving Dressing

Jalil Smith, Reporter

Dressing is an iconic dish usually made on Thanksgiving. It is one of my favorites along with baked mac and cheese and green beans. Every Thanksgiving day I look forward to making it with my family. This is the recipe I usually use when making dressing and I hope that you will also enjoy it.

You will need:

  • ½ cup of butter
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons of a finely chopped Onion
  • 4 cups cornbread crumbs
  • A teaspoon of Salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon of pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of Poultry seasoning

First, heat the butter in a large skillet and add onion. Cook until soft but not browned. Then, add the cornbread crumbs and the seasonings. Heat until the butter is absorbed and the crumbs are lightly browned. This is what makes dry dressing.

If you prefer moist dressing, add ⅓ cup of water, milk or cream.

With this last step, you have successfully made dressing.
