Musicians From The 80’s Still Playing Today

Ember Schroer, Reporter

Music is constantly changing and evolving but some of the best songs come from legends of the past. Here are a few musicians from the 80’s that you can still see perform live today. Recently the past has been making a comeback as well as a few bands. AC DC recently released news about their new album Power Up. The album is set to be released to the public on 13 November 2020. The group will begin to tour again in 2021. AC DC isn’t the only group expecting to release a new album. Megadeth’s David Mustaine revealed the hopes of an upcoming album. The band hasn’t given much detail on the new album except promises it will be similar to their popular album Rust in Peace. The Metal group will begin touring in 2021.

Another artist rising from the ashes is Mötley Crüe’s bassist Nikki Sixx. Nikki recently released a few songs with a group called Sixx:A.M. The group features many band members from other groups that are in recovery or that have recovered from addiction. One of the bands most popular songs is Life is Beautiful from their album The Heroin Diaries. Mötley Crüe also set to begin their tour with artist Poison, Def Leppard, and Joan Jett and the Black hearts in 2021. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band recently released his album Letter to You which is topping in several international sales charts. Though the release of his album Bruce and the group have no concerts scheduled in 2020 or 2021.

Her majesty Queen will resume with the Rhapsody tour in 2021 with Adam Lambert singing parts of Freddie Mercury. Many other bands are scheduled to continue touring in 2021. Bands such as Metallica with their Aftershock tour as well as band KISS with their End of the Road world tour. Elton John will be touring as well in 2021 with his Farewell tour. The world was largely affected by COVID-19 causing many bands to cancel their tours but it seems that they are making their way back in 2021. The 80’s might have passed but its legends still rock on in 2020 and 2021 taking the world for a loop and still topping charts to this day.
