Technology is such a huge part of how many people live that it is almost impossible to get away from.

While technology is very helpful at times, when it comes to driving, it can be the cause of very serious accidents.

Many states have laws against distracted driving, but these laws do not always stop the problem.

Looking at statistics about distracted driving can open many minds to the dangers of the situation and others’ actions.

According to CNYCentral, the National Safety Council estimated 24 percent of all car accidents now involve some type of cell phone use. It also states that distracted driving is the number one killer on roads in the United States today.

According to the website of Edgar Snyder of Associates, using cellphones while driving causes 1.6 million accidents per year. Texting while driving alone causes 330,000 injuries per year.

As surprising as it might be, texting while driving is six times more likely to cause an accident than drunk driving.

In the United States alone, one fourth of car crashes are caused by texting while driving, and 11 teenagers die every day because of it.

Statistics from the EndDD website have shown that in September of 2017, 18-35 and 35-44 year olds were tied at 54 percent for the largest percent of drivers that have done work-related things on their phone while driving.

It also stated that in February of 2017 that 34 percent of 16-18 year olds, 60 percent of 19-24 year olds and 50 percent of 25-39 year olds have texted while driving.

These numbers show that after people graduate from high school, their problem with texting while driving increases.

ORIGOSafe makes drivers put their phone on a type of docking station in order to start their car. If the phone is taken off the docking station at any time, an alarm will go off on the car and will require a code in order to start the car again.

The device can be put in any type of vehicle and is programmed depending on the type of phone.

This is also catching the eye of parents, young drivers and trucking companies.

The ORIGOSafe is a great idea for reducing the amount of distracted driving. It will improve the safety of those who drive and even the lives of those who don’t drive.

In order to improve the safety of everyone on the roads, devices like the ORIGOSafe need to be installed in as many vehicles as possible. The number of lives it could save and the number of injuries it could prevent would be incredible.
