‘The Defenders’ over-rated show
Superheroes unite in the first season of the Netflix original series “The Defenders” released on Aug. 18, which failed to live up to the hype.
“The Defenders” is about Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Randy Brand (Finn Jones), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) teaming up to fight the Hand, a secret organization trying to achieve immortality and gaining absolute power. The first two are also known as Daredevil and the Iron Fist, respectively.
Each of the four protagonists had his or her own show that document events before “The Defenders.” The show was overhyped, but Netflix has released worse original programming.
This was a good show, but a cliché motive for the villain, a forced chemistry between the protagonists and a slow-moving plot has kept this from being a hallmark Netflix original series.
‘Riverdale’ brings to life comic series
“Riverdale,” the T.V show based on the Archie comics, has a new twist of mystery, murder and a battle between families.
The show brings together a group of unusual friends to uncover the hidden past and murder of a boy from school.
It is narrated by Jughead as he takes you through the murder of Jason Blossom and its impact on the small town.
Along with the murder, Archie and his friends must juggle life as high school students as well, pushing them to their boundaries and testing their friendships.
Due to the success of the first season, on Netflix, the second season will be out in October with new mysteries and challenges for Archie and his friends.
This show will have you craving more after the first episode in order to find out what happens in the shocking end.
‘It’ brings back classic horror tale
The movie ‘IT’ came out to the public Friday, Sept. 9th and has been selling out theaters since then. ‘IT’ is a remake of the original movie that has the same name. In the movie, Georgie, a young boy, is attacked and killed by the evil clown Pennywise, who lives in the sewer system. When his brother, nicknamed Stuttering Bill, begins to look for Georgie, he and his friends start seeing Pennywise’s horrors in the form of their own fears.
The movie was very easy to get interested in because of the realistic personalities of the characters and the suspense and tension of the situation. The movie clearly has a story to go along with the horror, making the strange actions of the clown even scarier because of the fact that everyone’s fears are used against them.
However, the ending was a bit disappointing, since the end was a rather boring cliffhanger. But ‘IT’ was ultimately a good movie.
