The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken is about a world where a disease infects most of the children in America. The disease either ends up fatal, or gives you one of five different super abilities.

It follows a young teen named Ruby as she grows up in a camp the government built to protect the world from these kids with abilities.

One day she finds a way to break free from the confines of the prison-like camp, and she meets three fellow escapees on the way who help her discover more about herself and her incredible powers.
