‘Dark Souls III’ powerful addition to series

“Bloodborne’s” spiritual successor and the final chapter in the “Dark Souls” series, “Dark Souls III,” was released on April 12.

Role-play as a knight, a sorcerer, or whatever they can imagine, gamers will fight their way through medieval settings and battle anything from other knights to terrifying creatures like dragons in an adventure that improves on every aspect of the previous games and ends the series on a high note.

Although “Dark Souls III” is the last entry in the “Dark Souls” saga, it is the fifth game in the ongoing “Souls series.”

Numerous centuries have passed since the events of “Dark Souls II” and the world’s fire is fading once again.

Darkness spreads across the world, and the only hope left is for the Ashen One (the character the player controls) to hunt down the Lords of Cinder and use them to rekindle the world’s fire.

One of the things that are great about “Dark Souls III,” and the “Souls Series” in general, is its level design, which features massive areas with intertwining paths and shortcuts.

Not only does “Dark Souls III” keep the same quality in its level design, but it also improves a lot of aspects of the previous games, especially the graphics.

It is the best looking game in the series and features full cloth physics, making armor look better than ever.

Story wise, players will either like or dislike that the game is very ambiguous.

Almost all of the story is hidden behind lore notes and item descriptions players will find scattered around the world.

Some parts of the story are even left unanswered and up to interpretation.

Careful and attentive players, however, will enjoy piecing the story together and speculating about its mysteries.

References to the previous games like similar situations or look-alike characters are a problem though.

Unless the player has not experienced the previous games, he is going to question why the same character that he met two games ago is in “Darks Souls III,” which is supposed to take place hundreds of years after the other games.

“Bloodborne” and specially “Soul Series” fans, however, will enjoy most aspects of the game and appreciate the love and effort that went into making the last game of the series as memorable as “Dark Souls III” is.
