The Lady Falcon varsity soccer team has a record of six wins, seven losses and zero ties as of May 2.

The varsity got third place in the Mo-Kan tournament, which was a “big accomplishment for this year,” Angel Cornejo, head coach, said.

To prepare for a game, they just work on “fundamentals like, short one-touch passing and lots of moving,” Cornejo said.

The four varsity captains are Abby Bates, sophomore, and Spencer Shell, Taylor Hughes and Jenna Lattimer, seniors.

“Every year you have a different team, but this year has hardworking girls who understand what I want from them,” Cornejo said.

To qualify for state, a team has to win at least two post-season games which varsity has done so they will be going to state this May.

Next year Hughes is going to the University of Central Missouri with a scholarship to play soccer and Lattimer is going to Baker University with a scholarship to play soccer too.
