Most high school girls wear makeup every day, but Annabeth Swanson, senior, takes it to the next level.

Swanson became interested in makeup when her mom started selling Mary Kay makeup, but she started to think about it as a career when she was a sophomore and Regency Beauty Institute presented at school.

She enjoys the “creativity side of makeup and how it is its own art form.” Theater is also an interest of hers, and she would love to combine the two one day for a career.

Her favorite look is the “classy Marilyn Monroe” look with red lipstick or just the sixties look. Some makeup tips she has are to always blend foundation, to make sure foundation matches skin tone, and fill in eyebrows or pluck them.

Ulta Beauty Salon hired her about a month ago, and she really enjoys working with all the great people and “stalking the store” to find out about good deals or new products.

Swanson’s favorite part there is working with customers to help find the right look and making customers confident about their looks.

After high school, Swanson will go to the Regency Beauty Institute for a year to become a cosmetologist.

She has an Instagram account, @annabethswanson, where she posts makeup looks and reviews of new products for people to see.
