Terrifier’s 3rd, and hopefully final, movie disappoints
Terrifier 3 came out Sept. 19 and follows Sienna Shaw on the days right before Christmas. Sienna is pursued by Art the clown and his newest accomplice, a possessed Victoria Heyes.
This third film was a box office hit but it shouldn’t have been, hopefully this is the last film because it was honestly terrible.
The last two Terrifiers have been pretty good and have some originality to them.
This third film was packed full of corny, terrible acting, the acting in between the bloody slasher moments was stiff and awkward. It felt like I was watching a middle school play.
Half the time I could not even be scared because I was too focused on who wrote the dialogue because it was so awkward.
This film honestly had no plot, it was just gore with literally no substance at all. And the little bit of plot that there was, was all just reused from other popular horror films.
The murders didn’t make any sense, and the characters lack so much common sense it was making me irate.
There was no climax, and the movie just kept on dragging. Half the time I felt like I could fall asleep.
This movie was just very cliche, it was predictable, which is something you don’t want in a horror movie. This series should have ended with the second movie because this movie was just a sad cash grab.
All the characters felt completely pointless, by the time they were murdered I didn’t care because they just didn’t make sense.
The characters that were important were just killed off-screen. Again the plot was so lazy it was mainly stupid dialogue that no one would actually say.
Logistically this movie didn’t make much sense either. It’s a Christmas slasher but it came out in September. It would’ve made a lot more sense if it was released closer to Christmas or even around Halloween but not mid-September.
The first Terrifier was good, it was original and overall really scary. This second one was alright. It was definitely better than this one.
Another really large thing I didn’t like was that this movie ended exactly the same way as the second Terrifier. It felt rushed and lazy; it was a complete waste of time. I could’ve spent those two hours doing something else.
The only real saving grace with this movie was Art the Clown. Throughout all of the movies Art has kept it interesting. He’s a fun character to watch. I would watch a film with just him, doing his own thing. But as much as I love Art I believe this is the last time we’ll see him.
Though this movie did well in the box office, the audience rating is 3.6. The general consensus on this movie is it just wasn’t very good.
So if you’re looking for a good horror movie, I would recommend anything but Terrifier 3. If you find yourself turning on Terrifier 3, go ahead and turn it off.
