Four events to enjoy during upcoming season

Autumn is a time of haunted houses, football games and pumpkin spice lattes. Make the most of Autumn by attending any of these events.
Football
Chiefs games can be enjoyed by many even before Autumn begins.
The next home game is Oct. 11 at 12 p.m. against the Chicago Bears.
At a Chiefs game, fans can enjoy tailgating and concession stands. Tickets begin at $105, and the price increases for better seats.
Haunted houses
Ghosts, vampires and werewolves, oh my!
Kansas City’s four haunted houses in the West Bottoms, Chambers of Poe, Macabre Cinema, Edge of Hell and The Beast were named among the top 10 scariest attractions in the United States by The Travel Channel.
Chambers of Poe includes a variety of Edgar Allen Poe’s tales of madness.
The Beast is the first haunted house to utilize an open format and a live alligator during visits. Tickets for all four haunted houses start at $27 and increase for VIP tickets and combo tickets.
American Royal Barbecue
The American Royal offers a variety of different activities, including rodeos, a barbeque competition and various agricultural and livestock competitions.
The World Series of Barbeque competition begins on Oct. 1 and ends on Oct. 4.
Located at Arrowhead Stadium at Truman Sports Complex, the World Series of Barbeque competition tickets are $15 for Friday and Saturday tickets.
Guests can also enjoy a Big & Rich concert Saturday night at Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 3.
The Renaissance Festival
From Sept. 5- Oct. 18, guests can travel back in time and enjoy unique shops, music and food at the Renaissance Festival.
Located at 633 N. 130th St. in Bonner Springs, Kan., the Renaissance Festival is only open on weekends, and the general admission price for adults is $17.95.
Guests can enjoy a different theme each weekend they visit the Renaissance Festival.
Including a pet fest, shamrocks and shenanigans, a Highland theme and a harvest huzzah, guests have an array of activities to enjoy.
A variety of entertainments, such as a hypnotist, a juggler, fencing contests, magic shows and much more can be viewed by guests.
The Renaissance Festival also offers numerous games, such as archery, axe throws, Dunk a Duke, and Royal Darts.
Activities such as camel rides, elephant rides and a carousel can also be enjoyed by guests who attend the Renaissance Festival.
There is something for everyone to do, whether it’s watching a show at one of the 20 stages of entertainment, or feasting on the delicious food offered.
