We don’t trust you (Future, Metro Boomin) – This song is very, very repetitive, when the first verse came around I had no idea it was a verse and not the chorus because the words dragged together. The second verse was catchy but didn’t go anywhere lyric wise for me, the beat had me bobbing my head aggressively though which was honestly the highlight of the song. (C rating)
Young Metro (Future, Metro Boomin, The Weekend) – The orchestra playing in the background intertwining with The Weekends singing is soothing in a way that elevates the song, but doesn’t take attention away from Future’s rapping. Future provided strong verses that made me feel like I was speeding in traffic, in a chaotic but clean way. Every end of his bars rhymed but not so that it felt forced. ( B rating)
Type Sh** (Future, Metro Boomin, Travis Scott, Playboi Carti) – The energy that entered as this song started playing was immaculate, it was hype and correlates with one of the most popular sayings right now, “type sh**”. Travis’s verses sounded cool with an echoy affect, but the lyrics were weak amd repetitive. All he talked about was “eating perkies” over and over throughout his verse and I know that he could have given more. (C rating)
Claustrophobic (Future, Metro Boomin) – I’ve heard a lot of hype surrounding this song and I understand why. It’s catchy, and the verses flow well. Future’s verses isolated themselves apart from the chorus that kept playing in the background, which was a good balance. He made me feel like I could relate to buying a new car because I’m feeling claustrophobic, which I most definitely can not. (B rating)
Like That (Future, Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar) – The energy this sounds begins on might just make this the best song on the album. I feel like it’s hard to dislike this song, if you favor rap music. Kendrick’s versed attacked so many people so hardly that I had my mouth covered through the verse, I have bias because I love Kendrick. He found clever ways to incorporate disses at specific people and I found it super funny. Future’s ending is something light in the best way it was very vibey.(B rating)
