Kansas City has been in an uproar due to rumors of a new relationship between famous singer Taylor Swift and Chiefs NFL player Travis Kelce. Kelce admitted on his podcast, ‘New Heights’, that he attended the Era’s tour and participated in the bracelet exchange, which is popular among the Taylor Swift fans. His intention was to give Swift a bracelet, with his number on it but was rejected. However, speculation occurred after a report of Kelce and Swift hanging out around New York before Swift was finally spotted at a Chiefs game hanging out with the Kelce family.

Despite all the rumors, no one really knows what’s true or not. I believe that with Taylor Swift at recent Chiefs games and the obvious shock from the team itself that they are most likely in the beginning stages of a relationship. Despite the obvious moments of Swift visiting the games, the two have been quiet about actually defining their relationship. Personally, I don’t believe that the relationship will last long, especially with Maya Benberry, Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, warning Taylor Swift in an interview with DailyMail Uk, stating “once a cheater, always a cheater”. Kelce has always been quiet with his personal life, but with him not denying Benberry’s accusations of being a cheater, I begin to wonder if Kelce will be any different from the men Swift writes about in her breakup songs. The relationship is definitely controversial as neither Kelce or Swift have a great history with dating. With Kelce finally making a move into the celebrity world, the question remains if the relationship will actually develop into something more.

Though, on the other hand, if the relationship actually blossoms, it will definitely be one to remember. Kelce’s not only known for his game play but also for holding the heart of every millennial woman (and some men) in Kansas with his ‘amazing looks’ and fashion taste. As a part of Swift’s fanbase, I’m particularly skeptical of what will happen in the near future. It’s obvious that the two would be a power couple if it were to happen, what with Swift having a net worth of $740 million and Kelce $30 million. The couple would not only be powerful but wealthy.

Swifties are resorting to what’s known as ‘Swiftie math’ to understand football and Chiefs fans are listening to Taylor Swift albums. This is definitely something that I never thought I’d see, but I’m not complaining because it’s almost heart-warming. The relationship is new, but things seem to be going well for Kelce and Swift. I’m excited for the two. Even if they don’t make it into an actual relationship, they appear to be happy and that’s all that really matters. The relationship has brought fan-bases together and the two have hit records with how popular they are now. It’s exciting seeing where the relationship might go. The two might be the next power-couple, or they might be the lines of a new break up song. No one really knows.
