Everyone has something that he or she struggles with every day. Whether it’s struggling with grades or struggling with personal relationships, everyone has to overcome difficult situations.
For Katie Pelegrin, senior, cystic fibrosis is the factor that plays into her everyday struggles. She was just three days old when she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects a person’s respiratory and digestive systems. It also makes doing everyday things difficult.
“I stay positive by surrounding myself with positive and uplifting people, including my family and friends,” Pelegrin said.
In addition to surrounding herself with positive people, Pelegrin enjoys being involved in theatre. Specifically, she enjoys being involved in technical theatre.
She even plans to go to college to become a teacher in technical theatre to share her love and passion for theatre.
“The friendships I’ve created and the great people that I’ve met are the reason I love our school,” Pelegrin said.
Every day people encounter difficult situations in which they have to find ways to overcome them.
Pelegrin chooses to surround herself with positive people to help overcome her cystic fibrosis.
